Structure and composition of CD player
Although the CD player has a simple structure,it includes a turntable(disc compartment)DAC、Connect critical components such as ports, chassis, and power supply.Among them, the turntable,as the only visible part,is mainly responsible for supporting and feeding CD records, while the laser head is responsible for reading signals and other operations.
The common types of designs for exposed CD compartments and built-in CD turntables include parallel push in/push out,as well as suction type(similar to some computer optical drives)and peel off type.It is worth noting that there are also"pure CD turntable"products on the market that only include a turntable without a DAC,such as Cambridge Audio CXC V2.
The role of digital to analog converter(DAC)
When the digital signals in the CD are read through the turntable, these signals are sent to the DAC for decoding and conversion into analog signals. The combination of DAC and filtering circuits from different brands and models can result in subtle differences in sound performance.High quality DAC equipment can improve sound quality performance.
Nowadays, the vast majority of CD players on the market have built-in 192kHz/24bit precision DACs.A CD player equipped with a USB interface will also send digital signals transmitted via USB to the DAC for decoding and processing.
The Importance of Connecting Ports
All CD players are equipped with analog stereo output ports(RCA ports),providing different connection ports to ensure compatibility. If you wish to use an external DAC or connect an amplifier with a built-in DAC,digital output methods such as fiber optic and coaxial are more suitable.
It should be noted that although coaxial digital cables have a similar appearance to regular RCA cables,to ensure optimal performance,we recommend choosing cables specifically designed for digital signals.
